Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management, primarily responsible for outreach and recruiting activities within the F&ES Admissions & Financial Aid Office to help meet enrollment goals for the school. Primary responsibilities include participation in both on-campus and off-campus recruiting events and daily communication with prospective students. This position will assist with the implementation of innovative admissions strategies and programs to enroll the strongest possible F&ES class annually. Recruiting a diverse pool of applicants with special attention to strategic groups as identified by the school. Responsible for developing new leads and staying current on new and emerging trends in graduate enrollment.
Implement admissions strategies/programs and execute recruiting strategies. Plan activities required for the identification and cultivation of prospects leading to enrollment.
Conduct on and off campus recruiting sessions. Extensive travel is required to help meet growth and visibility goals.
Assist in the management of the campus visit program, and assist in the execution of the on-campus open houses. Engage in daily contact with prospective students to provide information and advice about F&ES programs. Advise prospective students about admissions requirements, options, policies, procedures, and associated topics.
Serve as a member of the Admissions Committee, responsible for evaluating all application files for admission.
Foster relationships with prospective students, engage in daily contact with prospective students to provide information and advice about F&ES programs. Record, develop, and maintain ongoing relationships with relevant undergraduate programs, employers, government offices, and other organizations to assist in the recruitment process. Engage faculty, alumni and current students in recruiting process; collaborate with F&ES and other Yale faculty, departments and offices, and outside organizations in this effort.
With direction from Director, lead all social media outreach efforts.
Assist Director in the development and implementation of specific initiatives to achieve ethnic, national, disciplinary, and other diversity in the applicant pool and student body.
Produce analysis of applicant and yield data to better inform efforts and review recruitment strategies.
Participate in school-wide efforts to continue building a community of respect, inclusion and equity.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and two to three years of experience in higher education administration or an environmental field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s degree in higher education administration, counseling, or the environment; experience planning and implementing events; experience with public presentations, relationship building and recruiting. Strong knowledge of F&ES and/or environmental Masters Degrees.
