Advance Preparation:
Request an Unofficial Transcript from F&ES Registrar
  • In person, by filling out a transcript request form available outside of Rosanne Stoddard's office, Room 108.
Mark Your Calendar
  • Application Opens October 23.
  • Application Closes at noon on November 1. 
  • Plan to Apply Early.
  • There are no exceptions for late submissions.

Write A Federal Resume
  • Refer to guidelines and sample distributed by Kathy Douglas to information session attendees.  If you did not attend session and would like the guidelines and sample, contact Kathy before Friday, October 20th.
  • Your federal resume will be different and longer than a standard resume because more specific information is needed to evaluate your application. Due to the amount of information requested, the standard federal resume is expected to be at least two pages and can be as long as 7 or 8 pages.
  • A Word Document or PDF created from a Word Document are highly recommended, so you can update and alter.
  • The online resume builder in USAjobs.gov is only recommended for use in doing a sample section to familiarize yourself with the types of information required.  The resume builder does not allow you to download an editable document.
  • Be sure to incorporate the 7 core competencies throughout your resume and in your online application anwers and essays:
    • Adaptability, personal accountability, public service motivation, problem solving, interpersonal skills, oral communication, written communication
