EQUID: Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity

The EQUID (Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity) Committee is the School’s taskforce for diversity and inclusion work. Made of students, staff, and faculty, the committee meets regularly to discuss and define its strategy for moving forward with its work.
EQUID's mission is to create a campus environment that
pushes us to challenge ourselves and each other to:
  • cultivate an atmosphere of inclusion;
  • grow the cultural competency F&ES students, faculty, and staff
  • challenge systems of oppression
  • and foster a space where a diversity of ideas, values, and perspectives are welcomed and respected.
EQUID Vision Statement
Our vision is an F&ES community that is safe and supportive for all, one that nurtures a culture of open-mindedness and respect for its students, faculty, staff, researchers, alumni, and affiliates.

As a community, we appreciate and embrace aspects of our identity across multiple dimensions of diversity and inclusion-- such as race, ethnicity, gender and gender expression, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, religion, and nationality.

Furthermore, we honor the broad spectrum of mental health, body image, cultural identity, class and socioeconomic status, educational experience, professional knowledge, and political opinion.

F&ES aspires to lead by example in creating a community where all individuals and groups feel welcomed and valued.
