Ms. Moreira earned a BA in Forest Engineering from Federal University of Viçosa and a MS in Silviculture and Forest Management from University of São Paulo. Since 2013 she has been enrolled in the Ph.D. program at University of São Paulo, where she will complete in 2017. During nine months (2015 – 2016) she visited the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies as a VAR to work her research data analysis by the supervision of Prof. Timothy G. Gregoire. During her Masters and Ph.D. she has been working as a teaching assistant for undergraduate students on the courses Forest Inventory and Forest Economy and, for graduate students in Biostatistics. Her research work is focused on Forest Biometrics, where she has applied methods of sampling with an emphasis on practical and advanced methods of forest inventory. She also works with methods of statistical modeling. She has used her training in forest biometrics as a base to expand her skill set to embrace a wider range of environmental and ecological statistics.
