About

Sayd Randle is an ethnographer and a political ecologist. Her research focuses on urban environmental transformation, water governance, and the politics of climate resilience in the American West. Her dissertation traces efforts by engineers, activists, plumbers, artists, and everyday city dwellers to remake L.A.'s contested waterscape, exacavating the meanings, values, and spatial imaginaries that guide their work. She has received research grants from the Wenner Gren Foundation, the Hixon Center for Urban Ecology, and the Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies, as well as an ACLS/Mellon Dissertation Completion Fellowship.
