ERS (Economic Research Service) Summer 2012 Intern Positions
Economist/Economics Assistant: Vacancy Announcement: ERS-0100
An excellent opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain valuable research experience and become
familiar with ERS models and data sets. These positions require individuals with a solid foundation in economic theory
and strong quantitative skills; experience with data collection, econometric analysis, data base management and/or
mathematical programming; and good communications skills. Interns participate in a wide variety of research projects
involving agriculture and environment, agricultural and trade policy, food safety, diet and nutrition, consumer economics,
and rural development.
Preferred Qualifications:
 Junior or senior economics majors
 Graduate student in economics
Minimum Qualification:
 One economics course

Salary:
 Based on education and experience, approximately $14/hr. for 1 year of college to $30/hr. for Ph.D. candidates
